In 2014, the people of Burkina Faso overthrew twenty-seven years of regime and forced Blaise Compaoré to resign, propelled by the pacifist movement Le Balai Citoyen (The Citizen’s Broom). Parfait Kaboré films this popular and artistic epic, which reveals the momentum of a youth determined to win its freedom. Screening followed by a Q&A with the director

Désiré Sankara is a Burkinabé singer-songwriter based in Paris, whose gentle voice and acoustic guitar carry an Afro-folk sound deeply rooted in Mossi culture.
His songs, in the Mooré language, tell of daily life, the values of respect and tolerance, and the memory of traditions. His world blends traditional rhythms and contemporary influences with great finesse. For this concert, he is accompanied by the excellent guitarist Michael Avron.
