The artists in detail:
THE PAINTERS
Jean-Yves LE FOULGOC, a drawing and watercolor teacher for twenty years. He was an amateur painter for ten years. For eighteen years, he has been giving private lessons. He advocates the step-by-step method. He recently exhibited at the Artists’ Fair in Dinard and has been exhibiting in Lanas for the past four years.
Evelyne TREMBLEAU, pastel artist. “For me, the gaze, the eyes, are often the starting point for a painting. I start with a person, with a gaze, and sometimes move towards something other than what it represents.”
Roland BIDEAU. For over thirty years, theater and painting have been the pillars of my creativity. My characters are born with a soul. I invent a world for them, made of fragile clarity, dazzling joys, and secret wounds.
Christine NURY, self-taught, creates in the moment, in a state of letting go where space and time no longer exist.
Through this series, combining acrylic on wood or canvas, she takes us on an imaginary journey, inviting us to explore the assumptions of the first glance and then to the details that change the event.
Exhibitions held: Voguë, St Etienne de Fontbellon, Aubenas
Jean-Marie GOGUE, artist name Godesli, watercolorist and street sketcher since 2000. He is a native of the Creuse department and recently moved to Ardèche.
With numerous local exhibitions under his belt, he has picked up his pen and brush again to capture the Ardèche.
He uses various techniques: ink, wash, watercolor, and acrylic, and also creates watercolors of your home upon request. A forthcoming exhibition will take place from September 1st to 15th, 2025, at the La Volane hall in Vals-les-Bains.
Murielle Antinori discovered pastels over 30 years ago. It was inspired by a need to draw and color. She experimented with oil and acrylic paints, then colored chalks, which were a revelation.
She discovered and became acquainted with a renowned pastel artist: Marie-Hélène Yernaud. It was a discovery, then a true passion. She also works with pastels on watercolor backgrounds and the Three Pencils Technique.
Bruno de Geyter studied at the Fine Arts School of Tourcoing after earning a baccalaureate in literature and art. After an accident in 2013, he returned to painting in 2014 as an escape. His oil paintings often depict bodies, especially female ones.
He expresses his emotions through paint and color, within the limits of size and format. He joined the Association of Independent Artists, which allowed him to exhibit and, more importantly, meet other artists. He has exhibited in Privas, Aubenas, Antraigues, Vesseaux, and now Villeneuve de Berg, as well as in Paris, notably at the Conciergerie.
Gérard Bro, this artist, is in a constant search for perfection, but also for innovation, which has allowed him to acquire new techniques. He enjoys working with materials such as sand or painting on aluminum plates, constantly creating surprising and totally innovative effects.
This artist is equally at home composing classical works: landscapes and portraits, as he is creating contemporary pieces.
THE PHOTOGRAPHERS
Jean Claude Gallet, a self-taught photographer, has been dedicated full-time to photography since 2016, when he founded the Privas Photography Club: Privas Ouveze Photo. In the following years, he presented several exhibitions, always focusing on either nature or street photography.
The series exhibited this year in Villeneuve de Berg, entitled “Watercolors,” brings together close-ups of sunlit reflections on the rivers around Privas: the Ouveze and the Payre.
François Roux, passionate about photography in his youth, rediscovered this passion in his retirement.
His photographs express unique atmospheres, tinged with a visual poetry that often tells stories.
He has exhibited in Aubenas, Vogûé, Tain l’Hermitage, Bessège, and other locations.
Jean-Charles Gros began a collection of books and old and contemporary photographs in 1977. He studied different printing processes in photography.
Since 2015, he has devoted himself exclusively to his work as a visual photographer. Main exhibitions: Lyon Photography Days at the Palais Bondy, Literary Bar and Gallery / Geneva, Château de Vogüé, Arles Photography Festival, Arica Photography Festival (Chile)
Nicolas Brancato, street photographer, takes a close look at those who inhabit our cities. Whether portraits or scenes from life, the moment is broken down into a candid photo that reveals stories and emotions. Added to this are geometric shapes and structures that his eye unconsciously captures.
Claude Bouvarel, photographer. He expresses himself through ephemeral artistic creations integrated into nature, which could be called “Naïve Land Art.” He photographs sculptors inspired by the symbolism and drawings of tribal peoples, using natural elements and sandstone rocks lost in the forest. This raw art is created outside of artistic institutions.
François Guepin began photography five years ago, after a trip to the Mercantour region, which was the catalyst. He initially developed a passion for landscape photography, the Ardèche being a beautiful playground. Then his interests evolved, and he turned to urban exploration (urbex) and more specifically to industrial wastelands.
The sculptors
Pascale Andre mainly models black sandstone, partially glazed to play with contrasts in texture and color. To summarize his approach, his creations are made of clay and vibrations. Each one manifests in the material what needs to be perceived, like a vibratory imprint in search of the person who will resonate with it.
Bob Appelmans is an “instinctive sculptor,” he shapes terracotta and patinates it. He sets no limits for himself, resulting in an imaginary, dreamlike, surreal, and humorous world. Evoking emotions through his works is his main goal.
He exhibits in France and in two permanent galleries in St. Rémy de Provence.
Martine Sausse, artist name Martis, sculptor-ceramicist, creates stoneware figures and animals and often uses the Japanese raku technique to glaze her sculptures.
Her world is inventive, tender, and humorous.
For 30 years, she has exhibited in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and PACA at various art fairs.
Chantal Martin sculpts and models according to her inspirations and impulses. She works with stoneware primarily by theme, following the seasons, her imagination, and her desires.
Movement, light, and color make her creations an expression of life here and elsewhere.
THE DRAWERS
Yannick Claeyman defines himself as a tree artist. His works are portraits or the fruits of encounters. His trees are whimsical and profoundly real; they are living beings in motion, trunks intertwined in a subtle dance, creeping roots.
Most notable exhibition: “Wood,” the exhibition at the Coliseum.
