Concert lecture : Tavelles et Torsion

Information

Description

In their show, ethnologist SYLVETTE WILLIAMS and musicians PASCALE AYMES and CHRISTIAN OLLER offer testimonials, music, songs and soundscapes…

In the 1870s, thousands of girls aged between 10 and 16 worked fourteen hours a day in very difficult conditions. Singing was suggested in part by the foremen to avoid gossip. The collection of these songs by the three guest artists, among others, has resulted in a fascinating repertoire of traditional music. The TRAD’VOCAL group will perform some of them (in four voices) at the end of the session.
