Description

Born into a Breton-speaking family in Morbihan in 1920, orphaned in childhood, Julienne Le Breton led a harsh life marked by poverty.
A memory long left on the margins of family history, which Patricia Allio patiently collects, with the urgency of preserving its trace. Alone on stage, often speaking directly to her “mémé,” she recounts this story in the first person, bringing together audio archives and photographs with her intimate reflections. The ban on the native Breton language, the harshness of farm work, but also the quiet joys and warmth of a conversation gradually nourish the moving portrait of a beloved grandmother. Through this complex legacy—between prevented transmissions, denial, and guilt—a vibrant tribute emerges, in which the intimate memory of the working classes constantly clashes with the mechanisms of national history.
