What’s happening in Ardèche

From April 11th, the new exhibitions for the spring/summer season at Château d’Aubenas invite visitors to take a fresh look at the world around us: materials, archives, mythologies and everyday gestures.

Come and discover the Valvignères winery, followed by a wine tasting!
Founded in 1952, the cellar vinifies and markets the production of 86 cooperative members (Valvignères, St Thomé and Gras) over 470 hectares, representing between 25,000 and 30,000 HL of wine. Duration: 1h30

Breathtaking photos taken at the heart of the colony, with a wealth of fascinating information. The exhibition, entirely translated into English, includes over 90 photos, to be discovered on our farm.

The Aven d’Orgnac Grand Site de France offers a unique experience combining nature (the cave) and culture (the museum)! Located near the Gorges de l’Ardèche, the Grand Site de France reveals an exceptional heritage both above and below ground!

Castanea tells in great detail the story of how for centuries, entire generations daily lives revolved around chestnut trees, both for work and for food.
Find out more about this emblematic “bread tree”. Castanea is beautiful located in a former convent in medieval town of Joyeuse. The museum shop offers you a wide range of local chestnut delicacys, postcards, books….

Come and explore prehistory in a whole new way as you search for a mysterious object in the Cité de la Préhistoire. You’ll travel back in time, question the museum’s inhabitants and find the contents of the “mysterious chest”!

You’ll find over a lot of exhibitors on site, offering a wide range of products: handicrafts, regional products, textiles and much more.

How did prehistoric humans say goodbye to their loved ones? What gestures, rituals, and symbols did they invent for this purpose? The exhibition offers a journey into the heart of their funeral rites by displaying previously unseen collections.

To mark the 90th anniversary of the discovery of the Aven d’Orgnac, try out our programme of end-of-day tours, with different themes and especially in small groups to get the most out of them. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.30pm: wine tours!

Every Friday during the summer, at the end of the day, relive the discovery of the Aven d’Orgnac cave, following in the footsteps of “Robert de Joly” (brought to life by a guide). A narrated, historical tour of that day in August 1935 when the cave was revealed to the world!

Greenland will be in the spotlight with works by Finnish photographer Tiina Itkonen, internationally renowned for her landscapes and portraits taken during her travels in these frozen lands.

Follow a guide under the cave to discover a unique atmosphere and face majestic subterranean landscapes.

As part of the “Dare to Go Outdoors as a Family, Close to Home” program, the La Pinède Community Center invites you to spend two days and one night in the garden (tent setup, games, tips and tricks, storytelling evening with guest speakers, etc.). Limited spaces available.

This summer, try our program of late-afternoon tours, with different themes, in small groups. Sundays and Mondays are Slow Tours. Take your time!
