Saint Andéol de Berg

Local history was noticed firstly by the clearing work of monks who built barns on the cleaned lands. Conflicts between monks and residents about the limits of land and water were frequent. Monks feeling threatened by farmers neighbours appealed to the King to be attached to the protection of the crown; which was done in 1284 by the creation of Villeneuve de Berg.
