The Plateau of the Coiron is a basalt layer which overlooks the village of Mirabel. It forms a balcony overlooking the Valley of Auzon, along which the square tower of the old castle (destroyed during the wars of religion by the troops of Richelieu) leads you to one of the nicest view of the area! Limestone and basalt make of the village a surprising cameo. The alleyways in calade which are narrow and cool during the summer will lead you to the lookout embracing nearly all South Ardèche. On the area, do not miss Le Pradel, cultural center where Olivier de Serres lived in the XVIth century (author of the famous “Theatre of agriculture", a precursor work in agronomy) to whom we must, among other things, the introduction of potatoes in France and sericulture (silkworm rearing).
